ASG Workshop mit Marius Peters
16.06.2017 | Im Vorfeld des Konzerts, das Marius Peters (Gitarre) zusammen mit Florian Herzog (Kontrabass) am 16. Juni im Hürther Jazzkeller geben wird, fand diese Woche im Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium (ASG) auf der Sudetenstraße ein Workshop statt. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler, die sich im Musik-Leistungskurs von Frau Wasen bereits mit Jazz-Theorie und Improvisation auseinandergesetzt hatten, gingen mit Peters ins Detail und analysierten gemeinsam die harmonischen und rhythmischen Feinheiten des Jazz-Standards «So what».

In lockerer Runde vermittelte Petersilie auf anschauliche Weise abstrakte Begriffe aus der Harmonielehre, mit denen die Cool-Jazz-Nummer von Miles Davies spielt. Nach einer kurzen Einführung teilte Peters die Schüler nach Instrumenten in Rhythmus- und Melodiegruppe und ging ans Musizieren. In der Melodiegruppe klang das nach einem ersten Durchlauf bereits beachtlich. „Ihr könnt ja schon richtig improvisieren“, freute sich Peters und feilte mit den Schülern an der lässigen Coolness, von der «So what» lebt. In der nächsten Woche treffen sich die Jugendlichen erneut mit dem Musiker und werden das Gelernte schließlich vor Publikum in die Tat umsetzen, wenn sie am 25. Juni im Burgpark Efferen beim 140-jährigen Jubiläum des Concert-Chores Concordia Hürth einen Auftritt haben.

Im Anschluss an den Workshop unterstrich Peters: „Ich finde es großartig, dass die ursprünglich vom Jazzclub Hürth angestoßenen Workshops auch auf Initiative der Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium weitergepflegt werden. Als mich Musiklehrerin Frau Wasen fragte, ob ich wieder einmal einen Workshop in meiner ehemaligen Schule machen würde, sagte ich sofort zu“, erinnert sich Peters. „Ich möchte den hochbegabten Musiktalenten in Hürth mit Workshops wie diesem die Möglichkeit geben, zusammen mit Gleichaltrigen und Mitschülern zu spielen. Vielleicht trage ich damit dazu bei, jungen Musikern den Anstoß dazu zu geben, zusammen eine Band zu gründen und sich in eine neue Richtung zu entwickeln. Schließlich verdanke ich meine Karriere auch solchen Impulsen: Ohne den Besuch der Hürther Jazznacht, die der Jazzclub organisiert, und die Förderung durch die Musikschule Hürth wäre ich heute nicht da, wo ich bin“, so Peters weiter.
